Preliminary Announcement: New solicitation of entities to implement with Subsidies “Subsidy to Project of Decommissioning and Contaminated Water Management” [Released on March 1, 2019]

The Mitsubishi Research Institute, Inc. is now executing the tasks of the Project Management Office for the “Project of Decommissioning and Contaminated Water Management” on behalf of the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy.
In this release, we are pleased to announce that we are preparing for solicitation of subsidized entities to implement “Project of Decommissioning and Contaminated Water Management.” Detailed information is going to be released on our website at time of the commencement of solicitation.

1. Purpose of Project

In this project, the projects which will support development of technologies contributing to decommissioning and contaminated water management of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station of Tokyo Electric Power Company will be conducted, so that the decommissioning and contaminated water management of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station can be implemented smoothly; and that the level of science and technology in Japan can be enhanced.

2.Subjects of Solicitation (tentative)

I. Development of Analysis and Estimation Technology for Characterization of Fuel Debris

II. Development of Sampling Technologies for Retrieving Fuel Debris and Internal Structures

III.Development of Technologies for Retrieving Fuel Debris and Internal Structures

IV. Development of Technologies for Retrieving Fuel Debris and Internal Structures (Dust Collection System)

V. Development of Technologies for Containing, Transportation and Storage of Fuel Debris

VI. Research and Development of Processing and Disposal of Solid Waste
