Regarding procedures for applying to this subsidy program
In Item 11 (5) of the Application Guidelines, it is described that upon completion of the subsidized project, a performance report shall be submitted to the PMO. Then, is the deadline therefor set as the end of March?
Please submit your application by the deadline described in the Rules on the Grand Policy for Subsidy.
When an application is made in the form of a consortium in accordance with Item 10 (3) of the Application Guidelines, how should we describe our application, if the case where operating entities not subject to the consumption tax (e.g. independent administrative corporations whose price quotation is to be given without the consumption tax) and those subject to the consumption tax (e.g. private companies whose price quotation needs to be given with the consumption tax) are mixed?
Please describe your application in such a way that those with the consumption tax and those without the tax are easily discernible.
As for the project which spans multiple years, is the upper limit for the subsidy grant applied to the aggregate amount for the multiple years?
Yes. The upper limit is applied to the aggregate amount.
Regarding the projects (General)
As for the TRL, can you indicate some concrete examples?
Please submit your application based on your own judgment. However, after the operating entity has been selected, certain coordination will be made between the selected operating entity and the agencies concerned, including the OPM.
Regarding an alternative idea, we don’t think it necessary in the case of basic tests. What do you think?
Please make your application as you think necessary. In the case where an alternative idea is necessary, please describe the system and budget so that an alternative idea can be prepared.
As for Item 2 (6) ② of the Application Guidelines, if we think it better to have the review made by an external committee rather than by an academic meeting, may we make our proposal in such a way?
There is no problem for you to make your proposal based on the review by an external committee.
As for Item 2 (6) ③ of the Application Guidelines, what does the wording “among parties concerned” actually mean?
As the parties concerned, we assume such agencies as the OPM, Agency for Natural Resources and Energy of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Nuclear Damage Compensation and Decommissioning Facilitation Corporation.
As for Item 2 (6) ⑥ of the Application Guidelines, may we understand that we can satisfy the requirements if we take part in the discussions mentioned in there?
Please establish a system where exchange of information with external entities is feasible, by participating in the discussions mentioned there.
When no work on the site is involved, we don’t think it necessary to consider any particular management system as well as appropriate safety measures. What do you think?
If there is no work on the site, such things that you inquire are not necessary.
Regarding the project contents, in the case where plans are formulated in the first year and they are implement in the second year, there may be cases where we are not able to concretely describe the project contents for the second year. In such a case, what should we do? And in the case where plans are implemented in the second year, is it possible for the budget to exceed the upper limit?
Please describe your proposal with the accuracy which you think is most appropriate. In the meantime, the budget cannot exceed the upper limit.
In the establishment of an indicator to judge the degree of goal achievement, with what level of accuracy should we set up the indicator?
Please set up the indicator with the accuracy that can be practically used as the judgment criteria for goal achievement of the project.
Regarding the Project (Development of Criticality Control Technologies of Fuel Debris)
Regarding Item 2 (4) of the Application Guidelines, what is intended with the phrase indicating that “creation of a system to make verification with assessment of a third party professional organization needs to be considered”?
The intention of the phrase is that we wish you to establish a system where the appropriateness of the assessment can be verified when you propose an assessment method.
Are the items to be provided to database mentioned in Item 2 of the Application Guidelines clarified?
We plan to discuss/coordinate this matter with the agencies concerned. As this project places importance on collaboration with other projects, including database, we want you to arrange for a system where you well cooperate with other projects.
Regarding the project (Research and Development of Processing and Disposal of Solid Waste)
Concerning “utilization of the knowledge of domestic and foreign knowledgeable people” described in Item 2 (1) ③ of the Application Guidelines, may we touch upon this point in relation to Item 2 (5) ③ of the Application Guidelines?
That is all right as long as your proposal is made in an auditable form.
Item 2 (3) ① of the Application Guidelines describes “advanced liquid processing system (ALPS), etc.” May we understand that “etc.” here includes such equipment that may become necessary in future as a variation factor?
Yes. Your understanding is correct.
